A hurricane is a two-act problem. Act one is wind and water doing the obvious damage. Act two is the week that follows — the leaks nobody tarped, the standing water that becomes mold, the missing photographs that make the insurance claim a fight. Most of the lost dollars in a major storm happen in act two, not act one. That’s the window we’re built for.
The First 72 Hours
- Rapid mobilization. We stage crews ahead of forecast landfall and deploy as conditions allow safe access. That’s often earlier than the big firms can get boots on the ground from out of state.
- Site stabilization. Roof tarping, board-up, water extraction, hazard mitigation. Whatever is bleeding out, we stop it first.
- Safety assessment. Structural integrity, utility safety, contamination. If it’s not safe to be in, we say so before we do anything else.
- Documentation. Photos, video, measurements, inventory — formatted the way adjusters actually want to see it.
Insurance Coordination — From Day One
We work directly with your carrier from the first site visit. The documentation we produce lines up with what the adjuster needs, which reduces the number of times you get asked for “just one more photo” at month three. We write preliminary loss estimates, coordinate the scope conversation, and then transition the same paperwork into the full reconstruction.
Temporary Protection That Holds
Not every tarp is created equal, and a bad temporary fix makes a good permanent one harder. We use professional-grade materials and install them to hold for the duration the claim actually takes — not just the first week.
- Roof tarping and leak prevention
- Water extraction and dehumidification
- Board-up of windows and doors
- Mold prevention and containment
- Utility disconnection where necessary
FEMA & Federal Programs
If the event gets a federal disaster declaration, the programs that become available are worth understanding. We can point you toward the right ones — Individual Assistance, Public Assistance, SBA disaster loans — and help with the documentation those programs demand. We don’t run the applications for you, but we put you in a position to run them cleanly.
